David Beckham Drops Into Fortnite

Sir David Beckham is jumping into Fortnite.

Not just as an Easter egg or some hidden reference. He is getting his own playable character.

The 51-year-old legend lands as part of the game’s Icon Series. Epic Games dropped a trailer on YouTube to confirm it. The footage shows Beckham wearing that number seven shirt. He kicks a ball with terrifying force.

It looks like something from his prime.

Players will have a few options for his look. There’s a sharp black suit, the “Club Owner” outfit, complete with a crest. You can go casual with a standard football kit. Or go full glam with the shirtless version. That one shows off all the gold tattoos.

They’re reactive too.

Every time you get an elimination? The ink on his arms and neck glows. It pulses. It feels personal.

“It’s been great working with them to celebrate my career.”

Beckham isn’t just standing around in this one. There is a specific emote called the “Shot Emote.” It mimics his famous curling free kick. The one that defined an era of football. Bend it. Like Beckham.

You also get two pickaxes. A scythe with the number seven on it. A “Meteor Baller” hammer for striking.

He teased it on Instagram first. A photo of himself looking in a mirror. The reflection? It’s his Fortnite avatar.

He’s joined Lionel Messi and Harry Kane in the game already. Before that? Years in FIFA. This is new territory though.

Why wait?

The character drops on July 18. 1 am BST.

He has won titles in four different countries. He has a very famous wife. Four kids. One son with whom he seems to have an on-again-off-again public feud. The drama is real.

But here, it is just about the goal.

Or the skin.
